We have a lot of bog here in Connemara. Saving the turf involves a strong back and keeping an eye on the weather. The smell of turf burning still hangs in the air on an autumnal evening and reminds a lot of us of the welcome warmth as we enter from the cold. Sweet earthy aroma.
